Lyman Rowing Association was started in 2005 as a club sport at Lyman High School. We have continued a steady growth over the past 6 years, increasing the number of rowers and coaches. We have a new boathouse located on Lake Kathryn in Casselberry, which makes getting to practice easy after school. Lyman Rowing Association is comprised of student athletes that represent several local Seminole County public and private schools.

Crew is a sport that develops endurance, discipline, teamwork and mental and physical toughness which builds relationships between athletes helping them to learn to work together as a team. This positive, structured activity helps instill a sense of well-being and confidence that they will carry with them throughout life.

Through membership payments, fund raising and active participation of parents, Lyman Rowing Association provides and maintains equipment and related items necessary for carrying out the sport of rowing.

There are 2 seasons of rowing. The fall season consists of the training and conditioning of novice rowers and the continued training of the returning athletes. Fall is "head" race season. Head races are considerably longer races than the 2000 meter races during sprint season. The second season is the Spring Season which begins in January. All athletes will train on land and water.

In Spring 2011, LRA had girls and boys boats medal at a number of regattas including Sunrise Sprints, Novice Regatta, Sarasota Invitational, and the Florida Scholastic Rowing Championships. At FSRA State Championships our Girls Freshman 4+ earned out first State medal, 2nd place in the Final. The Girls Pair placed 5th in the Sunday final.
